VECCHI CREDITS CROTONE AFTER HARD-FOUGHT WIN

Primavera boss admits Inter weren't at their best: "We made mistakes but kept things tight. Crotone are tough to beat. Super Cup is reward for team and club"

SESTO SAN GIOVANNI – Primavera coach Stefano Vecchi expressed his delight after an improved second-half display saw Inter eventually get the better of Crotone on Saturday afternoon.

The Nerazzurri secured the points thanks to Andrea Pinamonti's penalty following a half-time reshuffle but Vecchi admitted their opponents had made life tough for them.

"Crotone are a well-organised, dynamic team with some good players," he told Sportitalia after the match. "We found it hard today because we weren't able to play our usual game – but credit must go to our opponents.

"We knew it wouldn't be easy and I tried to change a few things around towards the end of the first half but we found it even harder. That's why I decided to go with a different formation after the break."

The Nerazzurri will now start preparing for the Primavera Super Cup against last year's league champions Roma on Friday.

"It's the first trophy up for grabs this season and we'll be playing in a great setting, at a 'real' stadium, something we got the chance to experience last season. It's reward for us and for the club as a whole – they do everything possible to provide us with all we need for our jobs."

Later Vecchi discussed the win further with Inter Channel.

"We were expecting a tricky game because Crotone have played well up till now and they have fast, dynamic players. We made too many mistakes – especially in the first half – and we were too slow.

"We played much better in the second half and kept things tight then we got our reward with the penalty."
