SAINTS MANAGER EXPECTS POINTS FROM SAN SIRO

Read Claude Puel's preview of Thursday's meeting at the Meazza: "It's an important match for us - we need points to qualify from the group"

MILAN – Southampton manager Claude Puel insists his team are determined to leave San Siro with a positive result on Thursday.

The English outfit are currently joint top of Group K with Hapoel Be'er Sheva after two games, while the Nerazzurri are yet to pick up their first points.

However, the French coach was keen to stress the fixture carries just as much significance for his own team.

"This game is very important to us and we're focused. It's motivating for us to be playing against a team like Inter," Puel told the gathered media at the Stadio Meazza on Wednesday.

"Like them, we need points to qualify from the group – that's our aim. I'm lucky to have a squad with a good mix of youth and experience.”

Here are the 21 players in the Southampton squad for tomorrow's match:

Fraser Forster, Stuart Taylor, Alex McCarthy, Cuco Martina, José Fonte, Jack Stephens, Maya Yoshida, Virgil van Dijk, Sam McQueen, Harrison Reed, Jordy Clasie, James Ward-Prowse, Oriol Romeu, Steven Davis, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, Dušan Tadić, Sofiane Boufal, Olufela Olomola, Shane Long, Jay Rodriguez, Charlie Austin.
