MILAN – You don't just need to look at the scorelines every week and the trophies picked up at the end of the season to understand the fantastic work being done at the Nerazzurri youth academy.
The CIES Football Observatory has confirmed the club as the best hotbed of talent in Italy having developed more players in Europe's top-five leagues than anywhere else in the country. The call-ups to youth national teams are an excellent way of confirming this further.
Fourteen young Inter players will be representing their countries over the next few weeks at Under-16 and Under-17 level. Nicola Tintori, Davide Bettella, Nicholas Rizzo, Lorenzo Gavioli, Davide Grassini, Elia Visconti and Davide Merola have all been named in Emiliano Bigica's Italy squad to prepare for the European Under-17 Championship qualification games.
Outside of Italy, Slovenia's Elian Demirovic and Maj Roric plus Serbia's Stefan Stankovic will also be taking part in EURO Under-17 qualifiers.
Italy Under-16 coach Daniele Zoratti recently called up Giacomo Pozzer, Michael Ntube, Christian Duse and Edoardo Vergani for the upcoming double friendly against Poland as well.
