MILAN – Joao Mario might have scored his first Inter goal against Cagliari on Sunday, but the Portuguese midfielder was keen to point out that it meant nothing after the Nerazzurri slipped to a 2-1 defeat.
"I’m really pleased to score but we’re disappointed with the defeat," said Joao Mario, speaking after the final whistle. "We can’t be satisfied with these results.
"We’re disappointed but we can’t give up. We need to keep working hard – work, work, work. We have to try to do our best," added the Portuguese.
"It’s tough to explain. We didn’t take our chances. Now we need to focus on Thursday right away," he concluded.
