MELO DEMANDS IMPROVEMENT

"We need to approach every European game as if it were a derby. Now we need to focus on Roma," the Brazilian midfielder told Sky Sport Italia

PRAGUE Felipe Melo believes Inter must do better after they were beaten 3-1 by Sparta Prague on Thursday evening.

"We need to understand that it’s not easy to play in Europe," said the Brazilian midfielder, speaking to Sky Sport Italia after the final whistle. "We need to approach every European game as if it were a derby – that’s the level of focus and intensity we need. And we’ve not shown that so far.

"We maybe deserved something from the game after our second-half performance, but the sending off and their third goal killed the game. We were already 2-0 down by the time we started playing. We switched off for their second goal – someone should have been following the ball, but it was a collective error.

"Now we need to focus on Roma, even though there’s not much time to prepare."
