ICARDI DELIGHTS IN IMPORTANT VICTORY

The Nerazzurri skipper and tonight's match-winner at the Castellani: "This team has so much quality, my team-mates make it easy for me to score"

EMPOLI – With six goals in five games, Mauro Icardi is in red-hot form so far this season, inspiring his team to their third back-to-back win in Serie A.

"It's my job to score goals," Inter's No.9 declared after the match against Empoli. "It makes me happy if I can help the team to win.

"It was an important game tonight because we didn't have a lot of time to recover after Juventus and we know these fixtures are never easy. We did well to swing the contest in our favour early on.

"I have already said that I really like playing in a 4-2-3-1 formation because I know that I've got supremely talented players behind me and this helps no end."

Finally, despite the recent spell of good form domestically, Icardi refused to be drawn into setting any overall targets for the campaign: "We're still at the start of the season and we have to continue with this attitude. We've got another game coming up on Sunday and we have to focus on Bologna straight away."
