MILAN – Empoli lie in wait for Inter in the Serie A mid-week fixture tomorrow evening.
The Nerazzurri boast a pretty decent record against the Tuscan side, picking up points in 19 out of 22 games played in Serie A.
In fact, Empoli have suffered more defeats (16) and conceded more goals (47) against Inter than any other top-flight team, banking just one point from the last eight times these teams have crossed paths. The Tuscans have also failed to score in five outings against the Nerazzurri.
Mauro Icardi has had a hand on six of Inter's last seven goals against Empoli in Serie A: four goals and two assists. Antonio Candreva has two in three against tomorrow's opponents, all while playing for Lazio however.
It's the first time Giovanni Martusciello and Frank de Boer have faced each other in Serie A, both of whom are in their debut campaigns as coaches in the top division in Italy.
