MILAN – Inter's captain and star striker has taken another look back at yesterday's win and, in particular, his remarkable scoring record against the Bianconeri.
"To a man, we all played fantastically," Mauro Icardi said after an event organised by the club's technical sponsor Nike. "We pressed high up the pitch and set up camp in Juventus' half. Ultimately, the superb spirit shown by the team paid off.
"The team was excellent. It's my fourth year here and I'd put that game up there with Juventus in the Coppa Italia last year and Napoli at home in terms of intensity.
"It's up to journalists to apply labels. I'm the Inter striker and it's my job to score goals, like any player in my position. It's my duty and I have to carry on scoring.
"Scoring against Juventus wearing this shirt is very important for me and gives great satisfaction to the fans."
