MILAN – Ivan Perisic took questions from journalists at an event organised by Nike at a sports store in Milan, where he had been sharing a few tips with youngsters on how to train to reach the top.
"We’re not happy with a single point at this stage, we need time to work together. We didn’t play well in the first game, in our second game we improved but didn’t get the win, despite having chances," he said.
When asked whether the change of manager before the start of the season has been an issue, he responded: "Clearly when you have more time to work on things together, it makes life easier, but we have an opportunity to do that now.
"We’re doing our best to start winning games and build up confidence, beginning with the game against Pescara.
"We’ll do all we can to produce a good performance. We need to send out a message and we’ll be sure to do that."
As regards his position on the pitch, Perisic said: "I’m ready to play anywhere. I prefer being on the left but I’ll give my best in any role."
The Croatian international also hailed the club’s spending during the summer transfer window, but says the team needs to concentrate on producing the goods on the pitch.
"It’s on us, we need to start picking up points. Our aim is to qualify for the Champions League."
