APPIANO GENTILE - Joao Mario is back in Milan after turning out for Portugal and he can't wait to pull on an Inter shirt.
The Portuguese midfielder was introduced to the Nerazzurri faithful at the Meazza 10 days ago after completing his move from Sporting Lisbon but has since been away on international duty.
After returning to Italy and training with his new team-mates in Appiano Gentile on Wednesday, he shared his first impressions with Inter Channel.
"I'm thrilled to be here for my first day of training with the team. Now I'm working hard to get myself as ready as possible for Pescara," the 23-year-old explained.
“It's been a really good day. My new team-mates are nice and they've given me a great welcome. Now I just hope to be able to do my bit on the pitch."
The Euro 2016 winner knows Serie A won't be easy but insists he and Inter are up to the challenge.
“The Italian league is highly competitive. There's lots of work to do but if we all pitch in we can achieve our targets."
Finally, Joao Mario had a message for the fans: "I'd ask them to get behind us and show us their support because we need their help."
