MILAN – Having completed his move to Inter, watched his first game from the stands at the Meazza and been given a standing ovation by the San Siro faithful, Joao Mario is now setting off again to answer an international call-up from Portugal.
The midfielder, who received a good-luck message from the Portuguese national team via Twitter on Sunday, will link up with his fellow countrymen to prepare for a friendly match against Gibraltar in Porto (1 September) followed by a World Cup qualifier against Switzerland in Basel (6 September).
Joao Mario will return to Milan next week to begin training with Frank de Boer and his new team-mates.
