MILAN - Finally the start of the new 2016/17 season is upon us, and we are ready for the first match of the championship, which we all await with bated breath.
We are glad to see a series of new changes since Suning acquired the majority stake in Inter in June of this year. A new coach has arrived in Frank de Boer; we all believe in him, in his ideas and his philosophy. Just as we believe in the team, made up of key players with experience, some of whom have been playing here, and others who have arrived this summer, attracted by Inter and ready to give their all.
I am sure that on the pitch the team will show their fighting spirit and the perseverance that distinguishes Inter as one of the greatest clubs in the world.
Now we must all show our willingness to fight together; both the team and the management, in order to reach our objectives.
Though far apart, we are with you in our hearts. Suning will provide a strong backing to Inter in the new season, not only through financial resources but also by encouraging the all-round support from Chinese fans and the Chinese market.
On the occasion of the first match of the championship, my mind and heart are with you, even if I am unable to be there in person. You have my support, just as you do from all the fans here in China that follow you with such passion. I will watch the game on television as will all the Suning staff as one big family.
I will however be in Milan to watch the home match on August 28, and before that all our efforts must be on the Chievo Verona game. I wish you the best of luck, with the hope that we may celebrate together after these first 90 minutes on the field. Forza Inter!
