VECCHI: "WE HAVE A GOOD SQUAD"

The Primavera coach chats to Inter Channel: "We'll keep working to get to know one another and bed in the team. We can go with several systems"

APPIANO GENTILE - It's been a busy week for the Primavera, something coach Stefano Vecchi was keen to discuss in an exclusive interview with Inter Channel.

"We had an excellent pre-season, then we won a prestigious tournament in Germany against some top sides, proving we have a good squad. We're also in the semi-finals at the Città di Vignola tournament and we'll keep working to get to know one another and bed in a group of almost all new players."

Vecchi also had the chance to meet new Nerazzurri head coach Frank de Boer: "We met last week and we're trying to figure out the needs of the first team and adapt accordingly. It was a good run-out today, he's keen to have a look at our youngsters and that's only right.

"We played a 4-3-3 during the first season, whereas we switched to a 4-4-2 towards the end of last year and now we're trying with three at the back. That's also the Ajax way... I'm currently trying to give the players the chance to express themselves as best they can within certain footballing ideals. Our experience allows us to change system."

With less than a month to go before the start of the season, Vecchi gave his take on where his side are at: "We're pretty fit. It's only natural there are a few aches and pains but it's nothing to worry about. We've worked a great deal with a lot of intensity. We were also lucky enough to have some first team players with us on our training camp and that raised the bar. Now we'll keep switching between matches and training sessions but thankfully we haven't had any major setbacks."
