OSLO – Javier Zanetti accepted Inter have to improve after they were beaten 6-1 by Tottenham Hotspur in Oslo on Friday evening.
"It’s never nice to lose, especially when it’s 6-1," the Nerazzurri vice president told Inter Channel after the game. "That said, if we analyse the game and focus on the first half, although there is a lot of work to do I have to say that there were some positive things in there too."
One such positive note was the performance of Ever Banega, who bagged an assist.
"That’s Banega all over – he has real personality. He’s always looking for team-mates in better positions and he’s certainly going to help us. We’ve still got two weeks to go until our first competitive fixture and we need to do everything we can and more to get there in the best shape possible," said Zanetti.
Zanetti called for Inter to learn from the defeat and move on: "Even when you lose like we have tonight it’s still a good test because we were up against a team that starts their league season next week. We can’t look for excuses. Let’s accept the defeat and get back to work."
