EUGENE - Davide Santon discussed Inter's meeting with Paris Saint-Germain after coming on in the second half of the International Champions Cup contest at Autzen Stadium in Eugene.
"It's important to be able test yourself against top-class opposition. We tried our best today and played well in the first half, then found it harder after the break. PSG are a great team," the Italian full-back began.
“Regardless of the result it was a useful game – a very good runout for us. We're still at the start.
“The crowd was great again today and there were lots of Inter fans. Football isn't the biggest sport in America but this is a big tournament and we're happy to be involved in it."
He then commented on the second half of Inter's US tour in New York over the coming week and his own situation at the club.
“I've been to New York before with Inter, in one of my first pre-seasons. It's nice to go back.
“I'm an Inter player at the moment and I've got three years left on my contract. I'm happy here and I played today. Like the rest of my team-mates, I'm just focusing on my football.”
Jonathan Biabiany also said a few words to Inter Channel.
"We managed to put the coach's ideas into practice quite well, especially in the first half. We're working hard so that we're ready for the start of the league season.”
