VECCHI: "THIS IS THE IDEAL PLACE TO TRAIN"

"We want to make settling in as easy as possible for the new faces," the Primavera boss told Inter Channel from Brunico

RISCONE DI BRUNICOStefano Vecchi believes that the Primavera squad’s pre-season training camp in Brunico is the perfect way to prepare for the 2016/17 season.

"Though we started our preparations in Milan, the climate here is definitely better for training," revealed Vecchi, speaking to Inter Channel on Friday. "We’ll start working on tactics and technique in the coming days to ensure we’re fully prepared for the start of the season.

"We’re trying out a few things at the moment. We want to make settling in as easy as possible for the new faces. There are some lads that have come from the Allievi side having done well last year, but it’s really hard to make the step up, particularly on a physical level," continued the Primavera boss.

Also in Brunico at the moment are several first-team players who were involved in Copa America or Euro 2016 action over the summer and have not travelled to USA with the rest of Roberto Mancini’s squad.

"We keep in daily contact with Mancini and his coaching staff. We listen to what they recommend and are happy to help out," explained Vecchi.

Finally, Vecchi called for his squad to focus on their pre-season preparations for now, rather than letting their minds stray to the challenges ahead: "Right now we need to think about working hard on fitness. After that, we’ll just have to see what happens."
