UTAH SECOND STOP ON INTER SUMMER TOUR

The Nerazzurri are in Salt Lake City! Here's everything you need to know about Utah's capital where Inter will play their first friendly of the tour

SALT LAKE CITY – The Inter Summer Tour continues and today touches down in Utah ahead of the Nerazzurri's game against MLS-side Real Salt Lake at the Rio Tinto Stadium.

It's the first time the club has visited the Beehive State, so let's unearth a few facts on Utah and Salt Lake City.

Utah is found in the Rocky Mountains, which affords it a wide variety of countryside including deserts, forests and the basin of the lake. There are five large national parks in the state.

Salt Lake City is in the north of Utah and was founded by Mormon pioneers, who today represent the most-widespread religious community in the state.

Utah's capital has a rich sporting history having been the host city of the XIX Winter Olympic Games in 2002, where Italy won four gold medals thanks to Daniela Ceccarelli, Stefania Belmondo, Gabriella Paruzzi and Armin Zoeggeler, as well as an overall haul of 13 medals.

The city is home to two sporting giants: the Nerazzurri's upcoming friendly opponents Real Salt Lake, who play in Major League Soccer and won the championship in 2009, and Utah Jazz, who were rivals to Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls in the second half of the 1990s.
