HANDANOVIC: "SOLID WORK IN BRUNICO"

On his birthday, the Nerazzurri goalkeeper told Inter Channel: "This is where we build for the season. We want to improve on last year"

RISCONE DI BRUNICO – Samir Handanovic spoke to Inter Channel on his birthday, at the team training camp in Brunico.

"Firstly I’d like to thank all the Inter fans for their birthday wishes," the goalkeeper said.

With the Brunico training camp coming to an end, he commented: "When you get back after the holidays it’s natural to find it tough. Brunico is a lovely place to get back to work.

"We’ve done well in this first period, even though quite a few of the lads are missing. Those that are here have put a shift in. It’s almost over and on Saturday we’ll be off to America."

"Our philosophy remains the same, it is here that we build the foundations. We’ll carry on with our work in America, even with the various trips and matches. That is where we build for the season. We hope to improve on last year, both in Serie A and in the Europa League," he added.

The Slovenian goalkeeper observed that, although a number of players have been away on international duty, the group is gelling well.

"We have the right mind-set. We have to wait for our other team-mates and work together. I am trying to improve, to get results, my aim is always to do better than last year."
