RISCONE DI BRUNICO – Inter were beaten 2-1 by CSKA Sofia on Thursday night in their second pre-season friendly of 2016/17.
Roberto Mancini went with a starting eleven of Handanovic, Ansaldi, Ranocchia, D'Ambrosio, Erkin, Bakayoko, Melo, Kondogbia, Dodo, Palacio and Pinamonti.
Inter made a fast start to the game, but it was CSKA Sofia who drew first blood after Arsenio Nunes beat Handanovic from close range on 10 minutes.
The Nerazzurri hit back immediately, Rodrigo Palacio latching onto Dodo’s pass to fire home for 1-1.
Mancini changed all eleven players at half-time, starting the second 45 minutes with a line-up of Carrizo, Santon, Yao, Della Giovanna, Nagatomo, Biabiany, Zonta, Gnoukouri, Bessa, Jovetic and Icardi.
The Bulgarian outfit restored their lead on 55 minutes, Yordanov slotting under Carrizo to make it 2-1. Despite Inter’s efforts, they couldn’t find the equaliser and CSKA held on for the win.
Inter will be back on the training ground on Friday morning.
