EAST RUTHERFORD – Gary Medel’s Chile have won the Copa America Centenario after a penalty shootout victory over Argentina in the final on Sunday night.
With neither side able to find the breakthrough in normal time or extra time, Lionel Messi and Lucas Biglia both missed from the spot to hand Chile their second successive Copa America win at the expense of Argentina.
Inter midfielder Medel was named in the tournament’s Best 11.
