MILAN – Inter U18s claimed another cup for the academy trophy cabinet this afternoon with victory over Torino in the two-legged Berretti final for Serie A and B teams.
Inter's youth sides have now won all six finals played during Erick Thohir's tenure: the Allievi Nazionali (U17) league and Italian Super Cup in 2013/14, the Giovanissimi Nazionali (U15) league in 2014/15, the Viareggio Cup (U19) in 2014/15, the Primavera Coppa Italia in 2015/16 and the Berretti (U18) league in 2015/16.
Our youngsters have been involved in 14 finals in the last five years, winning 12, while the total number of trophies won by the Inter youth academy rises to 41.
This rich vein of recent success highlights the excellent work carried out by the entire Nerazzurri youth academy under Roberto Samaden and is just reward for the club's philosophy of focusing on youth development.
