SAMADEN: "TOP MARKS FOR A GREAT SEASON"

Youth academy boss speaks after Inter v Roma: "My thanks go to Vecchi, the staff and the players - they showed they're a real team"

REGGIO EMILIA - Youth academy chief Roberto Samaden came out to praise the work of Primavera staff and players alike after an impressive campaign ended with defeat to Roma on penalties in the Scudetto semi-final.

"It was a fantastic game and it's been a fantastic season. I'd like to thanks Stefano Vecchi, the staff and the players for the enjoyment they've given us. They've shown they're a real team," he said in the aftermath of the match at Mapei Stadium.

"We stayed in all the competitions until the end and we produced a top performance today displaying tremendous character against a great Roma side. If these players can keep up this team spirit they'll go a long way.

"If I had to give them a mark for the season it would be 10/10. Finishing in the final four all the tournaments and winning one of them is a superb result.

"It would be great if we had a team like this every year.  Their chemistry, strength as a group and character made the difference. A heartfelt thank you to them all."
