MILAN – Sebastien Frey believes Roberto Mancini is the right man to keep Inter moving on an upwards curve next season.
"Inter already have matchwinners in the squad and Mancini is a top coach. He'll be able to gel the team and get them challenging on all fronts," the former French goalkeeper told Inter Channel after the inauguration of Inter Store Milano the other day.
Frey also revealed how important the two seasons he spent at Inter in his early career were for his development.
"During my two years at Inter I had the honour of playing with some experienced, world-class players – top professionals who taught us younger players important values like respect and professionalism. I'm grateful to all my team-mates from back then because they helped put me on the right track."
Asked to weigh up the past season, he said: "Inter did really well in the first part of the campaign. I work as a pundit but off air I was rooting for them because they were in a good position. Afterwards they suffered a dip but overall it was a positive season.
"Some players performed superbly – Handanovic, for example. I think he's the most consistent and decisive keeper in Serie A. It's great if you have a goalie like that."
