MILAN – Former Inter forward Alessandro Altobelli – known to all as Spillo – has told Inter Channel that it was a dream come true for him to represent the club.
"The Nerazzurri jersey was my life – I was a born Inter fan. Even my first team, Latina, played in black and blue. It was a dream come true for me to join Inter, spend 11 years here and score a few goals. I became a little part of the club’s history and I’m proud of that," said Altobelli, who was a special guest at the inauguration of Inter Store Milano.
"It’s not an easy shirt to wear because some extraordinary players have worn it, some global stars, plus the fans are very demanding," continued Altobelli.
Altobelli then gave his view on the Nerazzurri’s 2015/16 campaign: "I would almost certainly have taken fourth place before the season. Inter were top until January but things changed a bit after the Lazio game. In any case, I think it was a good season. It’s another year gone so let’s hope we can get back to the Champions League next season."
