LODI – Inter Giovanissimi Regionali have finished with a bronze medal at the Solidarity Cup in Lodi after a 1-0 victory over Atletico Madrid in the third-place play-off.
After beating Manchester United (6-1) and Atalanta (3-0) in the group stages, the young Nerazzurri were beaten 3-2 by rivals AC Milan in the semi-finals on Sunday morning.
Despite the disappointment, Marco Mandelli’s youngsters dusted themselves down to claim a place on the podium at the expense of Atletico Madrid thanks to D’Isidoro’s eighth-minute winner in Sunday afternoon’s third-place play-off.
