MILAN - Juan Sebastian Veron wasted little time in winning over the Inter fans as he scored the decisive goal in the 2005 Italian Super Cup. He went on to claim two Coppa Italia crowns and one Scudetto in his two years at the club.
The Argentine was back in town today and popped into club HQ to meet up with some of his old friends ahead of the opening of Inter Store Milano.
"It's good to be back here at my second home to see friends like Francesco Toldo and the Inter fans, who have always been good to me," he said.
The former midfielder then spoke to journalists after the event at the new Nerazzurri store in Galleria Passarella.
"I have lots of fond memories of my time in Milan. I really fell in love with the club. It's hard to forget because I learnt a way of life here – the Inter way."
Verona also fielded questions about the current Inter side, Roberto Mancini and Ever Banega.
"Inter have a young team and you can't change things from one day to the next. You need to be patient.
"Roberto seems the same guy I've always known who wants to win. He has everything he needs to do that, he's done it before and he can do it again.
"Banega is a player who uses his head in a game where it's become more and more important to use your legs."
