MILAN – While happy at having secured Europa League qualification with a 2-1 victory over Empoli, Stevan Jovetic insists Inter must aim for further improvement.
"It's good to win but we can and must improve," the striker said after Saturday's match at the Meazza.
"Empoli are a really good side; quite honestly I was surprised. They have some great young players and produced some good football.
"It was important for us to secure fourth place today. Our aim was to get back into the Champions League and we might have done it but we dropped a few too many points along the way. Still, we're back in Europe and we've laid the groundwork for next season."
Assessing his own season, the Montenegrin added: "I'm very happy with the first half of the campaign. I played less in the second half but that's how it goes. I came here to do my bit but you have you to respect the coach's decisions. I could have scored a few more goals but I always tried to do my best.
"My future? As I've said before, I want to stay here."
