HANDANOVIC: "SHAME NOT TO GET INTO CHAMPIONS LEAGUE"

Nerazzurri keeper on win against Empoli: "We've frequently made life difficult for ourselves this season"

MILAN Samir Handanovic has commented on the team's performance after Inter secured a 2-1 victory against Empoli this evening.

"We created our own problems in every match, even today we nearly conceded in the 94th minute," the Slovenian international said to Mediaset Premium after full-time. "It's been like that this season, we've always made life difficult for ourselves.

"As for what the squad needs to improve, I'm the goalkeeper and I just focus on my job. The rest is up to the club."

The Nerazzurri No.1 was booked in the second half, ruling him out of the last day of the season: "Mathematically we've secured fourth so it's fair that Carrizo gets a run-out. Obviously we're disappointed not to qualify for the Champions League next year.

"On my future: anything can happen in football but for now I have a contract with Inter."
