MILAN - Javier Zanetti stopped to speak to Mediaset Premium ahead of tonight's match against Empoli at the Meazza.
"We need to win this game as it's crucial for us," the vice president began. "The fans have turned out in their droves and we're grateful to them."
"There'll be time to talk about the future. We want to plan with Mancini and build an ever-stronger squad by finding the right players to improve what is already a very good side.
"If we look at where we've come from, we've taken great strides forward. We could have done a bit better but we brought in lots of new players. We have a solid foundations to build on and hopefully we can get Inter back where it deserves to be next season."
Zanetti then commented on rumours linking Mauro Icardi with a move away: "You shouldn't underestimate how much he loves this club. He's our captain and we want to continue with him. He's a very young, very good striker."
