MILAN – Inter's Giovanissimi Regionali side brushed aside Varese this afternoon to clinch top spot in the league with a game to spare.
Marco Mandelli's Under-14s wasted little time in asserting themselves against the basement outfit and an early brace by Esposito set them on their way. Barazzetta and Chibozo then added a goal each to hand the Nerazzurri a 4-0 lead at the break.
In the second period, Verzeni and Nuzzo helped themselves to a double apiece while Tordini and Bertazzoli also got on the score sheet as the match ended 10-2.
The win takes Inter onto 82 points, and with Atalanta stuck on 79 they are now mathematically certain of finishing first.
The Nerazzurri will visit Cremonese in their last league game on 8 May.
