MILAN – Fresh from their recent triumph at the 20th Giovani Speranze Cup in Francavilla Fontana, the Giovanissimi Regionali made a winning return to league action on Sunday afternoon as they beat Novara 3-1.
The young Nerazzurri took the lead in just the fifth minute of the match after Barazzetta pounced on a rebound, and it was 2-0 before half-time as Barazzetta’s cross set up Tordini to score.
Esposito won and converted a penalty just after the restart to bring up 3-0, and though Novara pulled one back Marco Mandelli’s youngsters showed good character to take the sting out of the game and secure the win.
The Giovanissimi Regionali will be back in action on Wednesday 4 May as they take on Varese at the Centro Sportivo Enotria (15:00 CEST kick-off).
