FRANCAVILLA FONTANA – The Giovanissimi Regionali side made it two trophies in a day for the Nerazzurri youth academy with victory in the Torneo Giovani Speranze on Monday afternoon.
Marco Mandelli's U14s lifted the 20th edition of the tournament after the Giovanissimi Regionali B (U13s) had clinched the Città di Abano Terme title earlier in the day.
Having beating Lecce and Real Virtus Grottaglie in the group stage, Inter dished out an 11-1 drubbing to Torino in the semi-final with goals by Barazzetta, D'Isidoro, Goffi, Esposito, Essan, Nuzzo (2), Doumbia, Verzeni, Dimarco and Tordini.
In the final, the Nerazzurri came up against Lecce again and once again proved their superiority with a 8-0 whitewash courtesy of strikes by Barazzetta (2), Doumbia, D'Isidoro (2), Goffi (2) and Moretti,
Inter players also picked up three individual awards: Essian man of the match in the final, Sangalli player of the tournament and Barazzetta top scorer.
