MILAN – Javier Zanetti chatted to Mediaset Premium in the build-up to this evening match's against Udinese at the Meazza.
He began with a question about Inter's Chinese visitors: "The fact that such an important delegation has come here from China is an honour for us. They wanted to come and see Italian football and the Inter family for themselves close-up. Everything suggests we'll move forward and keep the club growing.
"It's too early to talk about timescales. They've started having talks and president Thohir and Massimo Moratti will assess things as they see fit. What matters is that whatevers happens will be done with Inter's best interests in mind."
Mancini spoke about Inter's spirit in his pre-match news conference. “We've got solid foundations in place and the gaffer said as much himself. Now we'll weigh up whether we need to change anything and what. There are four games left to play and it's very important for us to make as strong a finish as possible because that will help us understand what's best for us and for the players."
Zanetti can look forward to spending the rest of his life at Inter after signing a permanent contract with the club. “I want to thank the club and the fans for the faith and the love they've always showed me ever since I first arrived in Italy. I hope to play my part in helping this club achieve much more success, which is what it deserves."
Looking ahead to next season: "You can always do better. We've very confident about the path we're on. We've had some highs and lows this season but we know we're on the right path. We'll move forward with a few new signings and the determination and character needed to tackle another season wearing the Inter shirt."
