SHANGHAI – Inter Academy Yitao Shanghai put on an extra-special event at the Jincai Primary School where Javier Zanetti took part in activities alongside 250 children.

There were bags of excitement, fun and passion on show from the young athletes ranging from seven to 12 years old. The Nerazzurri vice president participated in the welcoming ceremony before getting stuck in with the youngsters out on the pitch.

"I'm happy to be here, we've had a lot of fun," Zanetti said in an interview with sports website HuPu. "The Inter Academy project is very important to us and we thank Yitao Football Club president Mr Ge for this opportunity.

"Playing with these kids was great. We want to teach them the right things in order to help the development of Chinese football.

"Alongside president Thohir and Massimo Moratti we want to build a stronger Inter," he added. "We know that there are loads of Nerazzurri fans in China and that makes us really happy. The aim is to strengthen our bond with them because this is a key market for us.

"If there were an opportunity to find a potential partner, we'd be interested because we want the team to be up there with the best in Italy and Europe."
