MILAN - Sporting director Piero Ausilio has spoken to Mediaset Premium in the build-up to Inter v Napoli: "We're watching both Roma and Fiorentina and neither of them at the same time. We have to play and win our games, keep those chasing us as far away as possible and get as close as we can to those ahead of us."
On the future of the coach and the captain: "Mancini and Icardi will be a part of Inter for the next few years. From among everyone he could have chosen, Mauro opted for the best. Besides his performances, he's always spoken about the club in glowing terms. Mancini feels the same about Inter.
"It's hard to bring in any more numbers up front because we have several good players there. They are excellent footballers and starters for their respective national teams. We've had a turnover of 13 players, almost 50% of the squad. We need the squad to develop and there will be highs and lows. The team is starting to have a structure to it."
On the meeting between Mancini and Sarri and the fact that the Inter coach has revealed he will shake his counterpart's hand: "The issue was dealt with and over then and there. They're two excellent coaches and top colleagues and today they'll greet one another but that's only natural for those working in football. We were unlucky in the reverse fixture at Napoli and some of the decisions went against us. We put in a fabulous performance and if we can reproduce that tonight we could achieve something significant."
