PRIMAVERA HEROES ON SKYSPORT24

Della Giovanna and Zonta spoke about their cup win, with the captain declaring: "It was a great feeling to lift the Coppa Italia in front of the San Siro faithful"

MILAN – Inter Primavera heroes Fabio Della Giovanna and Loris Zonta appeared on SkySport24 on Thursday the day after their Coppa Italia triumph over Juventus.

First to speak was team captain Della Giovanna: "It was a great feeling to lift the cup at San Siro, with all those people there. Having said that, when you walk out onto the pitch you don’t look at the fans and you just concentrate on the match.

"The first ten minutes of the second half were the toughest, when we were still tussling to dominate the ball. We did well to resist the Juventus attacks and then get the win," he explained.

"I’m been at Inter for 11 years," continued Della Giovanna. "I’ve seen many great players play in my position. Last year I trained with the first-team squad and I was really struck by [Marco] Andreolli’s work ethic."

Asked how he and the rest of the team had celebrated, Della Giovanna replied: "It was very chilled. We went out to eat as a squad. We’re straight back to league action on Sunday, away at Salerno."

Goalscorer Loris Zonta also said a few words: "I’d like to play like [Marcelo] Brozovic. I try to study the first-team midfielders to try and learn as much as possible."

Speaking about the goal he scored in the final: "Radu has a very accurate ball on him so when I saw him I pegged it into the space. To be honest even I’m not sure how I managed to control the ball!"

The mood was clearly very good in the studio, with Zonta quipping: "We all celebrated but it was very relaxed. If Fabio says I took the celebrations further than the rest then he’s having you on!"
