MILAN - Tonight's Primavera Coppa Italia success will live long in the memory of those who helped to achieve it, says Stefano Vecchi.
Speaking after the Nerazzurri U19s beat Juventus 2-1 at the Meazza in the second leg of the final, the coach began: "This is the sort of game that players never forget. The Coppa Italia was a competition we really wanted to win, especially as the final was being played at two magnificent venues. My boys showed their quality tonight."
On the game itself: "We made a few changes and came out at them. We were clinical in the first leg. Tonight Juventus were very good but we showed great determination and strength. Perhaps our football isn't quite as pretty as it was last year but we make up for it with players who give their heart and soul for the cause.
"It's often been said of this team that they're not as good as last year's crop but they've got tremendous spirit and once again this season we come away with another trophy for the cabinet."
Finally, Vecchi wished to give out due credit: "This success is dedicated to all the coaches and everyone who works in our youth academy. It's an academy with a long history of success and we're upholding that tradition. I have a fantastic backroom team."
