Benoit Cauet's team look the lead in the 19th minute when Salvatore Esposito set up Andrea Adorante who netted at the second attempt after the keeper saved his first shot. The hosts then restored parity on the stroke of half-time from a corner.
All the luck seemed to go against Inter after the restart, with both Gianluca Mastromonaco and Adorante being denied by the frame of the goal. The killer-blow came 30 minutes into the second half when Carpi scored to complete the comeback and take all three points.
