MILAN - The Nerazzurri Under 17 Serie A e B side claimed an important win over Atalanta in their rearranged Week 22 fixture today to extend their lead at the top of the table to six points.
After a dull opening half hour, the visitors broke the deadlock from the penalty spot in the 35th minute. Gianmario Corti's side didn't trail for long though, as a Pinamonti free kick levelled the scores just five minutes later.
Inter stepped their game up after the interval and took the lead through Rover on 50 minutes before Pinamonti notched a third with a penalty. Atalanta managed to reduce the deficit late on but there was no time to mount a comeback.
Today's victory sees the Nerazzurri move up to 59 points and go six clear of Atalanta, who remain in second on 53 points.
