SIX POINTS FOR ESORDIENTI AT MUNDIALITO

Fabio Sacco’s Esordienti side built on their opening-day win with victory over Puertorrealeña but slipped to defeat in their second game on Tuesday

VILA REAL DE SANTO ANTONIO - Fabio Sacco’s Esordienti side have six points from a possible nine going into their last group-stage match at the Mundialito youth tournament in Portugal on Wednesday.

After making a stunning start to the competition with an 8-0 thrashing of Lusitano de Evora-os Geraldinhos, the young Nerazzurri inflicted another heavy defeat on Tuesday morning, with Spanish outfit Puertorrealeña on the wrong end of a 10-1 scoreline. In the goals were Di Giuliomaria (4), Curatolo (2), Bonavita, Perin, Goffi and Valtorta.

There was a sting in the tail lurking on Tuesday afternoon, however, as the Nerazzurri were beaten 4-2 by the Angolan outfit taking part in the tournament. It finished 4-2 to the African side, goals from Di Giuliomaria and Bonavita not enough for Inter.

Sacco’s boys will be back in action on Wednesday as they contend their last match of the group stages, against Spanish team Verdeluz (kick-off is at 10:00 local time in Vila Real de Santo Antonio).
