INTER TO TAKE PART IN 2016 INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONS CUP

Nerazzurri to play PSG, Bayern Munich and Celtic at US and European venues between 24 July and 13 August

MILAN - F.C. Internazionale are to take part in the International Champions Cup once again this summer, returning to North America after playing in the ICC China last year.

The prestigious summer tournament, organised by Relevent Sports, has for years been bringing together the world's biggest clubs at different venues around the globe.

The Nerazzurri will be joined by nine other major European clubs for this year's ICC North America, with matches being held in the United States and Europe between 23 July and 13 August.

Here are Inter's fixtures:

Paris Saint-Germain v INTER, Sunday 24 July 2016, Autzen Stadium; Eugene, Oregon (USA), 14:00 local time, 23:00 CET;

Bayern Munich v INTER, Saturday 30 July, Bank of America Stadium; Charlotte, North Carolina (USA), 17:00 local time, 23:00 CET;

Celtic v INTER will be played on Saturday 13 August in Europe. The venue is to be announced in due course.

"We are very pleased to be taking part in the 2016 International Champions Cup in the exclusive company of other big Club names such as Real Madrid C.F., FC Barcelona, FC Bayern Munich, Paris Saint Germain FC and Chelsea FC to name but a few," Nerazzurri CEO Michael Bolingbroke said. "This is the fourth time that F.C. Internazionale have participated in the International Champions Cup and the fifth time the Club has visited the United States for a pre-season tour.

"The United States is an important market for Inter and the tournament will be a great opportunity for our fans in the US to connect with the Club and players, either in person at the matches, or via the live TV broadcasts on ESPN. Football continues to grow rapidly in the US and we are very much looking forward to our three games against Paris Saint-Germain in Eugene, Oregon, F.C. Bayern Munich in Charlotte, North Carolina and Celtic FC back in Europe. We will also play some friendly matches while we are in the US, the dates and opposition for these we will announce in due course."

Inter's Chief Revenue Officer Michael Gandler attended the presentation of the tournament at New York's Dream Downtown hotel, along with Nerazzurri legend Marco Materazzi.

The former Italy defender spent a decade at Inter, winning five league titles, four Coppa Italias, four Italian Super Cups, the Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup, as well as the 2006 World Cup with Italy, scoring in the final.

"I'm proud to be here in the States to represent Inter, a club I still love very much where I achieved some unforgettable triumphs," Materazzi said.

"Inter was always a family for me and it still is thanks to the incredible passion of Nerazzurri fans around the world. This summer we'll have the chance to visit our American supporters, who are increasing in number all the time because the game continues to gain popularity in the United States.

"The International Champions Cup is an opportunity to test ourselves against some of the biggest European teams while experiencing the magical atmosphere and magnificent facilities you get in the US.

"I'm here today as an ambassador for the Nerazzurri's exciting summer tour and I'd like to thank president Erick Thohir. From the very beginning he's shown a great deal of interest in the players who have helped make the club what it is today and these players can now gather together under the banner of Inter Forever."
