MILAN - Inter academy director Roberto Samaden spoke exclusively to Inter Channel at #TweetOffRacism.
The Primavera will be involved in the last-16 of the 68th Viareggio Cup
on Wednesday: "It's an unusual competition because it's held during the
international break, which means we and some other sides aren't at full
strength. This evens up the tournament a lot, making it more interesting
and exciting. We've made it through the first phase and we'll try to go
as far as we can. The coach is working hard, the lads are relaxed and
they've played three good matches. We're fully focused on performing,
our opponents are very strong and we are preparing to play them as best
we can."
A new set of rules have been introduced for this year's Coppa Carnevale:
"I'm in favour of them, indeed we were among the first to promote the
changes. Larger squads, more rest days, slightly shorter matches and
more substitutions. We thought the rules needed looking at to better
manage our energy levels. We play in the Coppa Italia final after
Viareggio, before our remaining league games to try and make the
Final Eight."
The Coppa Italia final second leg will be played at San Siro, a big
incentive for the lads: "We're pleased to have made the final, plus it's
a great message for academy sides as whole to know they can play in
first-team stadia."
