ARCO DI TRENTO – Inter U17s have been knocked out of the Trofeo Città di Arco - Beppe Viola tournament at the group stage after slipping to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Napoli today.
Following a draw and a narrow defeat in their two opening games, Gianmario Corti's side lost their third to Napoli with the match crucially turning in a handful of minutes in the second half.
The Nerazzurri were awarded a penalty shortly after the interval but Maranzino saw his effort from 12 yards pushed around the post by the keeper. From the resulting corner, Russo was denied by the upright.
15 minutes later Napoli were awarded – and scored – a penalty of their own to seal Inter's exit from the tournament.
