CITTÀ SANT'ANGELO - Stefano Bellinzaghi's Under-15s have made it into the final of the 2016 Nike Premier Cup. After breezing through the group stage with wins over Udinese and Cesena, the Nerazzurri 2001s have beaten Atalanta in the semi-finals after knocking out Palermo in the quarters.
Inter created plenty of chances against the Sicilian side and gave nothing away. Vergani's first-half winner from Duse's cross was enough to secure a 1-0 victory, which frankly flattered the opposition.
The Under-15s went toe to toe with Atalanta in the semi-finals and showed great character to come back from an early goal down. Baruffi's header early in the second period levelled proceedings to send the game to penalties. Ansani saw his effort from 12 yards saved, while Opoku, Vergani, Carta and Mangiarotti all made no mistake for the Nerazzurri. Atalanta sent one over before Pozzer saved their fourth spot-kick to spark wild celebrations for Inter.
Last season's finalists Inter meet the winner of Roma v Empoli in tomorrow's final at 10:30.
