INTER U17S BEATEN BY CHIEVO VERONA

Adorante’s goal was not enough for the Under 17 Serie A and B side as they slipped to a narrow defeat in their second Città di Arco cup match

ARCO DI TRENTO – After being held to a 2-2 draw by the Lega Pro XI first time out, Gianmario Corti’s Under 17 Serie A and B side slipped to a 2-1 defeat by Chievo Verona in their second match at the Trofeo Città di Arco - Beppe Viola on Friday afternoon.

The match started with Inter goalie Mangano called into action on two early occasions, but the Nerazzurri soon gathered their wits and went on to grew into the contest, coming close to taking a first-half lead through Vai.

Yet it was Chievo that drew first blood as they made it 1-0 just three minutes after the restart. Corti’s youngsters hit back immediately, however, Adorante guiding home a Vai cross on 55 minutes. Inter went looking for the win and created good chances to score through Adorante and Valietti, but there was a sting in the tail as Chievo scored late on to seal a 2-1 win.

The Under 17 Serie A and B play their last group-stage match, against Napoli, on Saturday at 15:00 CET.
