MILAN – Inter put three unanswered goals past Juventus to come within a whisker of completing a remarkable comeback in the Coppa Italia semi-final return leg before cruelly going out on penalties.
Trailing 0-3 from the first leg, the Nerazzurri drew first blood through Brozovic on the quarter-hour mark after Medel did well to recover possession off Hernanes.
Four minutes after the break, Perisic turned home Eder's cross at the far post to make it 2-0 and when Perisic was brought down in the box by Rugani with nine minutes of normal time remaining, Brozovic added a third from the spot.
Extra time came and went with no further goals so the tie went to a penalty shootout. Palacio was the unlucky man as he saw his spot kick come off the underside of the bar with the Bianconeri progressing to the final.
