MILAN – No matter whether you live in Lombardy, Sicily or the Veneto, the Inter Club family provides a point of reference for all Nerazzurri fans wishing to channel their passion into a dedicated organisation – a place to share their love for all things black and blue.
We recently paid a visit to Inter Club Savona 2015 – the biggest Inter Club in Liguria – to catch up with Club president Paolo Peira and see how they cheer on the Nerazzurri in the land of pesto and focaccia.
When and how did Inter Club Savona 2015 come about?
"We founded our Inter Club because we wanted to bring support for the Nerazzurri back to our city. We launched on 16 June 2015 – that’s where the Savona 2015 name comes from. We may be young, but we’re feeling very enthusiastic about the future!"
Is there an event you’ve organised that makes you particularly proud?
"Back at the start of August, we organised a reception to officially inaugurate our Inter Club in the wonderful setting of the Bagni Marinella beach club. It was a fantastic day. For us, it represented the beginning of our adventure and the embodiment of our passion for the Nerazzurri."
Is there an Inter Club Coordination Centre event that your members particularly enjoyed?
"As I said, we’re a young Inter Club and we’ve not yet been able to take part in all the initiatives organised by the Inter Club Coordination Centre. That said, being able to use our own special entrance to get into the stadium is great as it makes it easier for us to take our seats. The members also loved the Christmas Village organised for the Inter v Lazio match. There were loads of activities and lots for the kids to do too."
How do you get junior members involved?
"We try to get as many youngsters to the stadium as possible, with the objective of showing them how to support the team in a passionate, loyal way. Plus, it’s always an unforgettable day for them. At our headquarters, we organise videogames tournaments to give them a fun way of integrating."
How else do you support the club?
"We try to go to watch them play as much as possible, both at San Siro and on the road. Our headquarters are open three days a week, giving our members a place to watch the matches together and have a nibble on something nice."
