MILAN – Mauro Icardi celebrated turning 23 in grand style this evening, scoring Inter's third goal and guaranteeing the three points were in the bag.
"We performed well this evening, we intended on winning and we managed to achieve that aim comfortably."
The Nerazzurri skipper's goal came after splendid solo run towards Curva Nord that began in midfield. "It was a good, quick counter-attack. I saw the keeper coming out, so I made sure of my shot and it went well."
The Inter No.9 shirt has been worn by some legends of the game in the past: "It's brought me good luck, I scored a good goal today.
"We stayed calm and we knew what we needed to do to get out of this negative patch. We have to pick up points because we still have everything to play for."
