SESTO SAN GIOVANNI – Primavera skipper Mattia Bonetto praised the team's performance after Inter secured a 2-2 draw against Lazio to advance to the final of the Coppa Italia.
"We're happy we got through the tie," Bonetto declared to Inter Channel. "It was a very tough match but we knew that would be the case, seeing as we were coming up against a top side like Lazio.
"We were trailing at one point but we stayed strong and managed to get back to level pegging. It didn't seem real when Lazio scored twice in two minutes.
"We looked ourselves in the eyes and we said that we simply had to get over this. After the slip-up against Cagliari in the league, we couldn't allow ourselves to get knocked out.
"Now we've got a two-legged final which will be played in big stadiums. We're becoming more aware of our ability, let's hope we continue in this vein."
