AL KASS INTERNATIONAL CUP, INTER 3-0 ASPIRE ACADEMY

Second-half goals by Russo (2) and Visconti see Gianmario Corti's U17s top Group A and qualify for the quarters

DOHA – Having crushed Shanghai Greenland 7-0 in their opening match of the Al Kass International Cup, Gianmario Corti's Under-17s today beat Aspire Academy by a 3-0 scoreline to finish top of Group A.

After a goalless first 45 minutes, the Qatari side's resistance was buckled after the break when Pio Francesco Russo made the most of a mix-up in Aspire's rearguard to seize the ball and deftly dink over the keeper on 55 minutes.

Two minutes later Russo – who later received the man of the match award from Inter Forever's Alessandro Altobelli – blasted an unstoppable strike into the top corner from the edge of the box to double Inter's lead.

Elia Visconti then rounded off the scoring in the 74th minute, set up by Giorgio Vitali.

The Nerazzurri will next be in action on Wednesday 10 February (15:35 local time), when they take on Estudiantes De La Plata of Argentina in the quarter-finals.
